Wow, that photo is really a knock-out! I will definitely be investigating those photogging tips you shared. Must ask – what are these in this photo? Outstanding job!
Thanks, Eggy. These are lychees, I used them to make a cucumber lychee sake martini, which sounds good on paper but was waaaay to sweet for me. I need to rejigger the recipe I found online to tone down the sugar, or just stick to vodka martinis….
Wow, I wish you were my neighbor so I could knock on the door and make you take photos of MY food too! Are you taking a general photography class, Andy? Or is it specialized for food? The texture assignment is very well done!
Love lychee. Made a lychee vanilla vodka snow cone last year when the Slurpee machine at the 7/11 was broken! Very refreshing! But more like a dessert. If you are interested:

I bet your girlfriend would like them on a hot summer’s day!
@ladiva,
Ha, I wish I were in Fl. too, especially with winter right around the corner!
Thanks for the props on the pix, the class I am taking is an online food photography class hosted by ppsop.net. I will likely start a series where I give some photography quick tips — but I wanted to get a little more practice under my belt first, and landing something on tastespotting or foodgawker wouldn’t hurt either 🙂
We took a look at the sno-cones on your site, and they look mahvelous 🙂
